Data cockpit for the largest hospital in Switzerland

Using the data cockpit, leading physicians and the management of the USZ can see the most important key figures for the various clinics and medical areas, in real time – either on the go, via the mobile app, or at work, with the desktop application. Users are effectively informed about important changes or abnormalities in the KPIs via push notifications for the various key figures or areas.

The mobile apps for iOs and Android, as well as the browser-based desktop app were implemented using the React and React Native Framework for the most part on the same codebase. The data is regularly aggregated by middleware from the USZ’s internal SAP data cubes and output to the applications, via an API. It was important to find a flexible data structure that would allow the USZ to adjust the KPIs or data structures independently, at any time.
Since the data is sensitive, the applications and APIs are only accessible via a login. The login happens via a single sign-on with the Azure Active Directory of the USZ, so that employees can log in with their work account.
