WebKingKong Custom Price Quote Plugin

October 3, 2012

Their straightforward approach was the first thing that caught our attention, as we could relate to their desire to provide customers with a smooth experience in building their online presence.

Custom WordPress Theme

WebKingKong was aiming for a theme implementation that would bypass unnecessary steps clients have to take to get what they needed: a price quote for their WordPress website. At the same time additional information such as a projects portfolio and available themes had to be easily accessible. Starting from these two requirements we implemented the theme’s two main functionalities.

In terms of content navigation we implemented several features such as custom image carousels and theme filters that can easily be used to browse throughout WordPress themes WebKingKong works with. The home page features two custom carousels that aggregate custom content types. The first of which is automated and features available WordPress themes, while the second is user activated and features a selection of websites implemented by our client. Choosing a WordPress theme is the first of a three-step process clients need to complete to get their website price quote. It all takes less than 2 minutes and includes a price calculator and a contact form as the additional two steps.

Custom WordPress Forms Plugin

After a client decides upon a website theme, a price quote is generated in the second step by assessing his/her needs and general website expectations. The custom plugin we implemented for this task provides a simple, clean, intuitive interface that allows the website administrator to generate and display custom built forms using check boxes and drop-down fields. A drag-and-drop feature was implemented to provide an easy way to arrange or rearrange form fields, while short codes are used to embed and display forms in the WordPress website. By defining values for each of the form’s fields the plugin serves as a calculator to generate, store, and display price quotes automatically based on the options clients selected in the form.

In the third and final step of the price quote generation process, a contact form is used to pass along by email the client’s website preferences, price quote, and contact details to WebKingKong, whom can already start to focus on specific website details in their first client discussion.
