The Zurich luxury hotel The Dolder Grand has undergone a rebranding. We have implemented the new website and created an online experience that matches the luxury and style of the hotel.

The briefing

The Dolder Grand is the reference for luxury and style. The 5-star city hotel with a fantastic view over the whole of Zurich is one of the best-known addresses among top hotels in Switzerland.
About two years ago, the Dolder Grand started a rebranding process, which has now been implemented on the website.
In addition to the implementation of the new brand design, the focus of the project was on the following two requirements:

  • More efficient bookings
  • Storytelling on the subjects of art and identity

The project was implemented in close cooperation with the marketing team of the Dolder Grand and the design agency Charles Blunier & Co. AG.

Flexible content

Content First

The Dolder experience begins on the website. That is why the website does not only focus on offers and the booking mask, but rather on the special stories that make the Dolder Grand great. The editorial style in combination with WordPress enables the marketing team to use storytelling and to involve the visitors in a dialogue so that they can discover the hotel at their own pace.

Agile Content Management

Speed and flexibility are more important than ever. Therefore, the new website also speeds up processes in marketing. Text-only posts – featuring the specially developed Dolder Font prominently – do not require an image. This saves time in content management and adds variety to the website.
For the creation of landing pages for specials and offers, we rely on an easy-to-use layout builder that exploits the potential of WordPress’ Advanced Custom Fields. With this function, editors can easily create individual pages with different modules.

Centralized Content

Special offers can be centrally managed and categorized by editors. The relevant special offers are then automatically displayed at various points on the website based on the assigned categories. Expired special offers are automatically removed.

Book Now

Thanks to the flat navigation structure, the Dolder’s offerings are always in view. The simple “Book Now” button remains visible at all times, allowing users to jump to various booking portals from anywhere on the site. Depending on the user’s location, the “Book Now” button automatically directs them to the correct booking platform. For example, in the spa section, it automatically suggests SPA treatments for booking.

Homepage in Six Languages

The homepage has been translated into six languages. English and German offer the full content, while other languages, such as Chinese, provide a dedicated homepage with the most important information.
